*12 years as the SCBWI LitMingle Coordinator of the Westside Illustrators of Santa Monica, Ca!*
This lock-down year has brought a new element to her work. Her lifelong obsession with saving magazines was bewildering! In a 'use it or lose it' house cleanup session, she was inspired to USE those piles, which she did! Her sense of color and design and love of nature was unleashed in a flash, by tearing those luscious magazine pages and creating images of her own. Suzy is finally recycling her magazines... in her own way! Who knows where it will lead? |
Suzy Engelman Block could never quite decide what she wanted to be when she grew up. So many interests and so little time! Then, in a splendorous moment of clarity she concluded she could DO and BE be it ALL... She cleverly explores her passions with torn paper collage, the tip of a paintbrush and the tapping of a keyboard. She inserts it all into the pages of her illustrations, fine art and other projects.
