'The Me I Am' is a picture book that resembles a scrapbook.
It is the project of our young chimpy protagonist, Rosa.
Through illustrations that fuse collage, portraits, photos and art,
she demonstrates the many characteristics that make her unique and multi-dimensional.
Building good character is the backbone to all life's ventures.
Sometimes it is in our DNA and sometimes it takes hard work and awareness.
Rosa brings optimism, humor and gusto to the pages of her scrapbook...
qualities to which we all aspire at any age!
As appropriate for a preschooler or a college graduate,
”The Me I Am” is the perfect companion to celebrate the journey of life!

"WHEN GRACE MEETS CHANCE"
Grace, a shy schoolgirl on a class trip to the zoo and Chance, a misfit gorilla
in a cage meet by happenstance at an opening in the enclosure’s fence.
They become fast friends and to the horror of all, flee together with romp through the countryside.
Their escapade turns to intrigue when they evade the authorities, get involved in a rescue and become heroes!
Subsequently, they are separated and returned to their respective homes. That serendipitous exploit,
however, transforms a multitude of lives and begins an inter-species friendship that will last a lifetime.
That's what happens... "When Grace Meets Chance."

"DUCHESS, QUEEN OF DOGS"
Duchess was my first furry love. Back in the days when good dogs went out
to play without a human, Duchess would wander the neighborhood on missions of love.
That very social collie would scurry to the nearby school to surprise the kids at recess,
accompany the mailman on his route, or even venture
down to the corner pharmacy to greet customers.
Her antics got her into big trouble when she disappeared one night.
The neighborhood turned itself upside down to find their furry friend. Where was Duchess?!
This heartwarming story is a glimpse into the unconditional love found in the eyes of a dog.
In my life, Duchess was the first, but not the last.
This story concludes with the lineup of the 9 dogs and 4 cats that have filled my life...so far!

"EYE CANDY"
Nowadays, young kids wearing eyeglasses is pretty common, and even fashionable.
BUT when I was a kid, it was a fate worse than death.
Kid size eyeglasses were few and sooo hideous looking!
My mother was resourceful and to my horror, found a pair of pink and red peppermint striped frames!
That eye candy made my life miserable for a year.
One day, quite by “accident”, my tasty glasses and I took a nasty fall down my house staircase and broke, oh my!
The joke was on me when the optometrist found a pair of new frames that Mom loved even more...
red and green scotch plaid! Need I say more?
